Is it obligatory for a veiled female teacher to cover her face in front of her 11-year-old students?

The Sharia evidence indicates the obligation for women to cover their faces in front of non-mahram men. As for children who have not reached puberty, there is a detailed explanation: if they are among those who are aware of women's private parts, then it is not permissible to uncover in front of them. However, if they have not reached that stage, it is permissible, based on the Almighty's saying: (Or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women) [An-Nur/31]. Ibn Kathir pointed out that a child who does not understand the affairs and private parts of women may enter upon them without issue. However, if he is an adolescent and understands these matters, he should not be allowed to enter upon them. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen said that if a child is aware of a woman's private parts, looks intently, and talks a lot, it is not permissible for a woman to uncover in front of him. This varies depending on children's natural inclination and their company. In these times, it is common for children at the age of discernment to understand and distinguish these matters due to what they witness. Therefore, it is advisable to cover the face in front of them.
