The answer

The Shari'ah encourages unity, cohesion, and mending relations, and forbids division. This directive is even more emphasized for relatives due to the ties of kinship, which Allah has commanded to uphold. Allah Almighty said: "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade suspicion, prying, spying, envy, turning away from one another, and hatred, and commanded us to be servants of Allah as brothers. He, peace be upon him, clarified that mending relations is better than the status of fasting, prayer, and charity, and that corruption of relations is the one that shaves away (good deeds). He warned against animosity, which prevents the forgiveness of sins on Mondays and Thursdays, and alerted that sins can be a cause of hatred between loved ones, for "no two who loved each other were separated except by a sin committed by one of them."
