The answer

Extremism is excess in any direction, and it is condemned in religion, as both excessiveness and negligence are prohibited.

Allah has forbidden exaggeration, extremism, and leniency in religion. Allah Almighty says: "Do not exceed the limits in your religion or say about Allah except the truth." And He said: "Beware of extremism in religion, for indeed, those who were before you were destroyed by extremism in religion."

As for moderation, it is one of the characteristics of Islam and is represented by balance in all matters. It is a middle ground between excessiveness and negligence, between strictness in worship and leniency, in dealings and spending, in marriage, and in affirming and denying the attributes of Allah Almighty.
