What is the wisdom behind mentioning events of the Hereafter in the past tense in the Qur’an?

The wisdom behind expressing future events in the past tense in the Qur’an is to convey certainty of their occurrence, as if they have already happened and passed. This style is frequent in the Holy Qur’an, such as His Almighty's saying: "The command of Allah has come, so do not impatiently seek to hasten it," and "And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens will fall unconscious," and "And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire," and "And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord." All these past tense verbs express future events, and their certain realization is treated as if it has already occurred.
