What is the reckoning with Allah Almighty for one who recorded a girl's words then disposed of the recording, and the memory device on which the recording was stored was lost, along with his fear of its retrieval and appearance, knowing that he has repented and intends to marry the girl? And is the appearance of the recording considered an expiating trial for the sin? And what if the recording appears after marrying her, and is he considered disobedient to his parents if they become angry with him? And is it forbidden to stop searching for the recording?
You must make sincere repentance and feel remorse for the sin, and continue to abstain from disobedience and resolve not to return to it, while not informing anyone of what happened. Search for the recording to destroy it, and if you do not find it after making an effort, then supplicate frequently that Allah protects you from its evil. Know that Allah accepts repentance from His servants and forgives all sins for those who repent, and whoever Allah conceals in this world, He will conceal on the Day of Resurrection.
