What is the ruling on watching translated anime, while trying to avoid what contains magic, supernatural matters, or indecent scenes, and with the sound muted so as not to hear music?

The default ruling for watching anime is permissibility, provided it is free from শরীʿআ (Islamic law) prohibitions, such as disbelief-laden beliefs, polytheistic utterances, promotion of destructive ideas, naked scenes that incite desires, and music. Added to these prohibitions are the endorsement and glorification of magic, and the imitation of sorcerers' and charlatans' actions.

As for supernatural elements in anime, those that do not involve claiming any of the attributes of Lordship (Rububiyyah) or Divinity (Uluhiyyah), such as raising the dead or knowing the unseen, and those that do not entail an imitation between the Creator and the created, are permissible.

Therefore, if it is possible to skip scenes that contain শরীʿআ prohibitions and mute the music, then watching it is not forbidden in that case.
