A man died suddenly, and he was not pleased with his wife.

The Sharia has encouraged the wife to seek her husband's رضا (content), and warned her against incurring his wrath. Every fertile and loving wife is among the people of Paradise; if her husband becomes angry, she says: "This is my hand in your hand, I shall not close my eyes until you are pleased." And there are three whose prayers do not ascend beyond their ears, among them: "A woman who spends the night while her husband is angry with her." If the husband's displeasure is due to the wife's shortcomings, she must repent, supplicate, and seek forgiveness for her husband. However, if his displeasure is without valid reason, there is no sin upon her, and there is no difference between her and others in practical terms; she inherits from him and observes the iddah (waiting period) from him.
