Are homosexual tendencies resulting from childhood rape, which led to engaging in sodomy in adulthood, considered a tribulation after repenting from them? And does the one who experiences this fall under the promise of "a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah"? What is the ruling on one who practices sodomy? Is he described as being from the people of Lot? Is he considered an infidel by the Hadith of Ibn Abbas? And how can one avoid blaming divine decree and destiny in this matter?

One who repents from the sin of sodomy is like one who has no sin. It is not a condition that all inclinations disappear after repentance; rather, they dissipate through engaging in acts of obedience, marriage, and contemplating the vileness of this transgression. It is permissible to describe one who practices sodomy as being from the people of Lut (Lot) due to their similarity to them. It is mentioned in the noble Hadith that both the active and passive participants in sodomy should be killed. Sodomy is among the grave major sins, but it does not constitute major disbelief (kufr akbar).
