What is the correct perception for dealing with unpracticed homosexual tendencies, and is supplication alone sufficient to cure them? What is the gravity of the sins that are preludes to sodomy? And does the destruction that befalls a society due to the spread of sins include all its individuals, or is each person resurrected according to their intention? And is there a contradiction between the hadiths of worldly torment and mercy in the afterlife? What is the Sharia stance on harming someone who caused the destruction of one's childhood?

There is no sin upon one who has been subjected to rape or similar acts; rather, it is an affliction that requires patience and an effort to rid oneself of unnatural inclinations by seeking Allah's help and through treatment. One should not be preoccupied with the criticisms of preachers who warn against this scourge, but rather focus on treating the illness, for Allah is the ultimate Reckoner. The hadith, "My Ummah is a merciful Ummah; there is no torment upon it," means that its torment is in this world through trials and tribulations. This may specifically refer to those who have not committed a major sin, or to a particular group, or it may mean that "Ummah" here refers to those who truly followed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
