Can a single young man who has committed the abomination of Lot's people repent sincerely to gain God's forgiveness? Is repentance obligatory for both parties or for one party? And what is your advice for abandoning this abomination?

The crime of sodomy is considered one of the most heinous sins and the greatest corruption after disbelief. Allah punished its perpetrators with severe punishments that He had not inflicted upon anyone before the people of Lut. Whoever is afflicted with this act must repent immediately and sincerely to Allah, with remorse and a firm resolve not to return to it, for Allah accepts sincere repentance and erases sins. One who is entangled in it should not expose himself, and should strive in acts of obedience and multiply acts of worship, and resort to Allah in supplication to remove this affliction from him, for a heart filled with the love of Allah recoils from lusts and abominations.
