How can one reconcile the Hadith, "Whoever says 'There is no god but Allah' will enter Paradise," with the Hadith, "Women who are clothed yet naked will not enter Paradise, nor smell its fragrance"?

It is permissible to ask about reconciling hadiths. Ibn Abd al-Barr, in Al-Tamhid, regarding the hadith of the "clothed yet naked women," stated that "they will not enter Paradise" is to be understood as dependent on Allah's will, meaning that this is their punishment unless Allah forgives them. Al-Nawawi, in his commentary on Sahih Muslim, said that the hadith can be interpreted in two ways: either it refers to those who deem unlawful acts permissible, in which case they would be disbelievers abiding eternally in Hellfire, or it means that they will not enter Paradise at first with the victorious ones.
