What is the fate of the children of believers and polytheists who died young?

The children of believers will go to Paradise, following their parents, according to the Almighty’s saying: (And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith—We will join their descendants with them). As for the children of non-believers, Allah knows best their fate in the Hereafter. In this world, they are like their polytheist parents: they are not washed, not shrouded, no prayer is offered for them, and they are not buried in Muslim graveyards.
