Is it permissible for a father to register some of his property to one of his children to the exclusion of others, especially if he sees righteousness in him and that he will help his younger siblings, given the father’s fear for the rest of his children and his distrust of them due to their foolishness and disobedience, citing the verse: "And do not give the foolish your property"?

The preponderant view is that it is obligatory to be fair among children in gifts and endowments, unless there is a specific need that necessitates preferring one of them. Therefore, a father is not permitted to favor some of his children over others due to differences in their righteousness, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Be mindful of Allah and be fair among your children." Also, because such favoritism causes envy and hatred among them. It is obligatory to reform disobedient children through methods that do not involve corruption. However, if some are singled out due to their need, or some are denied due to their فسق (disobedience/impiety) and their using what they receive for sins, then there is no harm in that.
