This varies from person to person; some may need only a gentle squeeze, while others may need to repeat it, clear their throat, or walk a few steps. The intention is for the person to believe that nothing remains. This practice is recommended, but if it is omitted and the person cleanses immediately after the urine flow stops, their cleansing is valid and their ablution is complete, unless they are certain that something has exited. To overcome obsessive thoughts about something exiting after cleansing, it is recommended to sprinkle water on the private parts and trousers.
