How can one reconcile the parents' desire to marry off their son early with the son's financial concerns and his struggle between marrying a girl he previously loved, who comes with the problem of "the قائمة" [dowry list], or marrying another girl whose family he admires, out of a desire for repentance and religious commitment?

Our advice to you is to fear Allah and repent to Him, and hasten to marry to protect your chastity. Propose to the girl with whom your heart has become attached, as long as you are able to marry her, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "We have not seen for two who love one another anything like marriage." And Ibn al-Jawzi said: "Whoever is afflicted by passion, and wishes to marry, let him strive to marry the one by whom he was afflicted, if that is sound and permissible."
