Is one sinful for detesting specific individuals from the Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt) due to their ill-treatment, while generally loving the Household of the Prophet and the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him?

The status of the Prophet's household (Ahl al-Bayt) - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - is preserved and well-known among the Sunnis. However, their merit, which necessitates veneration and honor, is specific to the righteous and pious among them, and does not include the disbeliever, the immoral, or the one with bad character. This is because the most honored among people in the sight of Allah are the most pious, and noble lineage does not benefit its owner if he does not adorn himself with piety and righteous deeds. The consideration is therefore piety, not lineage.
