The answer

Purity (tahara) is a condition for the validity of prayer. If what is emitted is semen (maniyy), then the questioner must perform ghusl (ritual bath); otherwise, his prayers will be invalid and he must repeat them. He must also make up for the fasts of the days during which semen was emitted in the daytime of Ramadan. However, if what is emitted is prostatic fluid (madhiy), then he only needs to wash the private parts and perform ablution (wudu'), along with making up for the days of fasting if this occurred in the daytime of Ramadan. Semen (maniyy) is characterized by its stickiness and its emission during intense arousal, whereas prostatic fluid (madhiy) is a thin, whitish fluid emitted during slight arousal.
