What are the most important Qur'anic verses and surahs recommended for memorization to be beneficial in this world, in the grave, and on the Day of Judgment?
Whoever is able to memorize the entire Qur’an, that is better, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an on the Day of Judgment: 'Recite and ascend and recite distinctly as you used to recite distinctly in the worldly life, for your station is at the last verse you recite.'" As for whoever is unable to do so, let him memorize whatever surahs and verses he wishes, and it is preferable to memorize the surahs for which a specific hadith has been reported regarding their فضl (merit), such as Al-Baqarah and Al Imran.
