The answer

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned two hadiths about the plant al-sabr in "Zad al-Ma'ad": The first is the hadith of Qays ibn Rafi' from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "What is in the two bitter things that brings healing? Sabr and thafa." The second is the hadith of Umm Salamah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade her from using al-sabr during the day because it "makes the face pale." Both hadiths were deemed weak by Al-Albani. As for the sabbār plant (cactus), it is not mentioned in the hadiths and differs from al-sabr. Al-sabr is a tree extract, while al-sabbār is the fruit of a tree that is intensely sour and is known as tamarind.
