What is the wisdom behind singling out fasting, among other acts of worship, for theرفع of deeds to Allah Almighty? And is there a relationship between fasting and the رفع of deeds? And does it have an effect on the acceptance of righteous deeds?

Deeds are presented to Allah annually in the month of Sha'ban. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, loved that his deeds be presented while he was fasting in this month, due to the great reward of fasting. He also loved that his deeds be presented while he was fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, and that his appointed time of death should come while he was fasting.
