Is a man who is alone among a group of women required to lead them in prayer, knowing that they are not his mahrams?

The religious texts indicate the permissibility of a man leading women in prayer by themselves. Whoever denies this must provide proof. If the seclusion is absent and some of the man's mahrams are present with the women, there is no objection to his leading them in prayer; in fact, it is preferable. However, it is disliked for a man to lead non-mahram women in prayer by himself. If a man leads his wife or a mahram woman in prayer and is secluded with her, it is permissible without dislike. If he leads a non-mahram woman in prayer and is secluded with her, it is forbidden. If he leads non-mahram women in prayer and is secluded with them, the majority of scholars definitively permit it, because when women are gathered, a man cannot commit indecency with some of them. If he leads his mahrams or non-mahram women, and there is a man or a mahram woman with them, there is no dislike.
