What is the ruling on one who has not purified himself from ritual impurity for a month?
If the impurity is sensory (visible) on the body or clothing, then if one is aware and intentionally neglects to remove it, they have committed a grave sin and must make up the prayers. However, if one is ignorant or forgetful, there is no sin upon them, and regarding the obligation to make up the prayers, there are two opinions, the soundest of which is that it is not obligatory.
If the intended impurity is minor or major ritual impurity ( hadath asghar or hadath akbar ), then whoever neglects it knowingly and intentionally has committed a grave sin and must repent and make up the missed prayers. If they neglect it due to forgetfulness or ignorance, there is no sin upon them, but they are obligated to make up the prayers they performed without tahara (purity).
