How is it possible to abstain from all major and minor sins and transgressions, and to return to acts of obedience after a life full of debauchery and wantonness? Is it possible for a person who practices evil to transform into someone who strives for good? And can a detailed daily program be provided to help with this?

If you feel regret for your sins, hasten to sincere repentance, and know that this is a good that Allah has willed for you, for Allah the Almighty said: "Then He turned to them that they might repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepter of repentance, the Merciful."

To transform your life from disobedience to obedience, follow these steps: 1. Accompany righteous companions and distance yourself from bad friends, for Allah the Almighty said: "And keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance." 2. If you can, move to a place where righteousness prevails among its people, so you may find those who will help you in obedience, as narrated in the story of the man who killed ninety-nine souls. 3. Increase your remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Quran, and prayer, for they deter from indecency and evil, and "Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." 4. Avoid procrastination and wishful thinking, and hold yourself accountable before you are held accountable, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The shrewd one is he who holds himself accountable and acts for what comes after death, and the helpless one is he who follows his desires and merely hopes from Allah."
