How many days are there for the Days of Tashreeq?
The jurists have agreed that the Days of Tashreeq are three, but they differed regarding their exact determination, holding two opinions:
1. That they are the eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth days of Dhul-Hijjah. 2. That they are the tenth (Eid day), eleventh, and twelfth days of Dhul-Hijjah.
The preponderant opinion is the first one, based on evidence including the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The Day of Arafah, the Day of Sacrifice, and the Days of Tashreeq are our Eid, the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking." This excludes the Day of Sacrifice from them. And upon this opinion is the practice in Hajj.
