How can a veiled questioner persevere in prayer and fight her devil, and how can she convince her husband to be patient with not having children in order to face people's talk, knowing that conception is only possible through expensive IVF procedures?
Prayer is one of the greatest acts of worship; it is the pillar of the religion and the demarcation between disbelief and faith. Abandoning it is disbelief, and those who are negligent in it are threatened with woe. Preserve it so that it may be a light, a proof, and salvation on the Day of Judgment. As for procreation, it is in Allah’s hands; He grants to whom He wills and makes barren whom He wills, according to His wisdom. Therefore, whoever has been denied children should be patient, content, and supplicate, like Zechariah (peace be upon him), while also taking material means. And whoever tries to cause discord between spouses should desist, for among the excellence of a person’s Islam is his leaving what does not concern him.
