The answer

Working in the sale of alcohol and in brothels is forbidden in Islamic law, and it incurs the curse and expulsion from Allah’s mercy. This is based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Allah has cursed alcohol, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, its carrier, the one to whom it is carried, and the one who consumes its price.” As for the acceptance of a drunkard’s prayer, that is an unseen matter known only to Allah. If he drinks it, his deeds are not accepted, according to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Whoever drinks alcohol, his prayer will not be accepted for forty mornings.” The meaning of non-acceptance here is the non-attainment of reward. Therefore, one must abandon this work and repent from it.
