Does the lifting of a toe or the nose off the ground during prostration – even for a second – invalidate the prayer, especially if grasping a rakʿah before the time expires depends on the validity of the prostration? And is the rakʿah considered grasped upon rising from the second prostration in the first rakʿah, or does that require starting to recite Al-Fatiḥah for the second rakʿah?
It is sunnah to prostrate on seven limbs: the forehead – along with the nose – the hands, the knees, and the tips of the feet. All these limbs must be placed with ṭumaʾnīnah (tranquility). It is sufficient to place a part of each limb. The forehead is what is considered from the facial organs, not the nose. And if one places a single finger from each hand and foot, it is sufficient. So, if a worshiper places all his limbs, or a part of each limb, then lifts one of them before the rest, there is no harm, and his prostration is valid. A rakʿah is attained by performing it individually before the time expires, or by attaining the rukūʿ (bowing) with the Imam and achieving ṭumaʾnīnah with him. The rakʿah is completed by raising the head from the second prostration.
