What is the meaning of "the ultimate end is unto Him" in the context that grace originates from Allah?

Perhaps the speaker meant that the ultimate end of all matters is with Allah, the Exalted, as in His saying, "And that to your Lord is the final return," and "And to Him will be returned the whole affair." Or perhaps he meant that his intention and goal are for Allah alone, and for no other.
