Is it permissible to place entertainment facilities—such as a ping-pong table and video games—in a Dar al-Qur’an building that is affiliated with the mosque and built on its land? Is it permissible to accept a donation of a PlayStation to the Dar al-Qur’an on the condition that it be used in a way that pleases Allah, and can the donor reclaim it if the condition is violated? Should the device be returned to the donor if donating it is not permissible? Is it permissible to spend donors’ money on a sofa set for the Dar al-Qur’an instead of the available Arabic floor seating? Is it permissible to donate supplies for temporary use in the mosque with the intention of retrieving them later?

Firstly: It is permissible to provide lawful recreational means (such as tennis and PlayStation, free from prohibited elements) for students of the Qur'an house in the mosque, due to their benefits for the students, provided that time is regulated, and there is no disturbance or distraction from prayer. This is supported by the act of the Abyssinians playing with spears in the mosque.

Secondly: The donor of the PlayStation device may stipulate that it be used in a way that pleases Allah and serves the interests of the Muslims, and he may reclaim it if the condition is violated, because "Muslims are bound by their conditions."

Thirdly: If the donor to the Qur'an house does not specify a purpose, it is permissible to spend his donation on anything that benefits the house, such as furniture if necessary. Those in charge must be diligent in spending without extravagance or spending on matters that are not beneficial.

Fourthly: Temporary endowments (hibah mu'aqqatah) are a matter of scholarly disagreement. The majority prohibit them, while some jurists, such as Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim, permit them, as they consider valid the stipulation of returning the gift and limiting its duration.
