Is it permissible to be named "Engy" in Islam, or is it disliked?

Parents should choose good names for their children, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, you will be called on the Day of Resurrection by your names, so make your names good."

It is permissible to use non-Arabic names unless they contain a legal prohibition or are exclusive to disbelievers. Ibn al-Qayyim divided names into three categories: 1. Names exclusive to Muslims. 2. Names exclusive to disbelievers (such as Jirjis and Butrus), which Muslims are not permitted to use. 3. Names common to both Muslims and others (such as Yahya, Isa, and Zayd), which are permissible.

Determining the ruling on a specific name relies on those knowledgeable about names, their meanings, and the extent of their exclusivity to disbelievers.
