A husband must provide independent and suitable housing for his wife. She is not obligated to accept living with her father-in-law, as their interaction may cause her harm. If the father-in-law wrongs his son's wife without justification, the husband should politely advise him and prevent him from transgressing against her, without disrespecting him. For the father's right is great, and disobeying him is a major sin.
