What is the validity of dividing Tawhid into Rububiyyah and Uluhiyyah, and what are the origins and sources of this division?

It is permissible to divide Tawhid (monotheism) into specific categories, because the scholars' division of it is based on tracing and scrutinizing the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah, to facilitate learning for students. Some scholars have divided it into three categories: Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship), Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Divinity), and Tawhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat (Oneness of Names and Attributes). Others have divided it into two categories: Tawhid al-Ma'rifah wa al-Ithbat (Oneness of Knowledge and Affirmation), which includes Tawhid al-Rububiyyah and al-Asma, and Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah. There is no issue with this variation, as the intent is one and the same.
