The fetus is washed, shrouded, and prayed over without dispute if it completes six months in its mother's womb, or if it completes four months and its life is known at birth. It has been narrated in the Hadith that: "The miscarriage is prayed over, and forgiveness and mercy are supplicated for its parents." The prayer over it involves supplicating for it to be a forerunner and a treasure for its parents, and to weigh heavily in their scales, and to be placed under the care of Ibrahim.
