According to the Hanbalis, congregational prayer is obligatory, unlike the other three schools of thought. However, the mosque is not a condition for its validity; rather, it is valid in the home and in the desert. A congregation is formed by two or more people. Whoever does not find someone to pray with in a congregation should pray individually, and it is not obligatory for him to search for someone to pray with.
