What is the ruling on establishing and the obligation of congregational prayer in a place devoid of inhabitants and facilities, where a group of people spends 28 days for work, then returns to their homes for 28 days as a holiday, knowing that they work 12 hours daily?

Congregational prayer is obligatory for both the traveler and the resident. It must be established by one of you giving the call to prayer (adhan) and then praying in congregation. Al-Bukhari narrated from Malik ibn Al-Huwayrith (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the time for prayer comes, let one of you give the adhan and let the eldest among you lead you in prayer." Also, Abu Dawud narrated from Abu Ad-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are no three people in a village or desert in whom prayer is not established except that Satan has gained control over them. So, adhere to the congregation, for indeed the wolf eats the stray sheep." Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about a group of travelers: "Are they obligated to pray in mosques?" He replied: "The basic principle is that congregational prayer in mosques with the people is obligatory upon you if you are in a place where you can hear the call [to prayer] without a loudspeaker due to your proximity to the mosque. However, if you are in a distant place where you cannot hear the call except with a loudspeaker, then pray in congregation in your places. Similarly, if going to the mosque would disrupt the mission for which you came, then pray in congregation in your places."
