Is it permissible to prostrate while wearing a cap if it covers the spot of the forehead, and is it permissible to pray while wearing gloves?

Scholars agree on the preference for the worshipper to prostrate directly on the ground with their forehead and hands, except in cases of excuse. They differed on whether this is obligatory. Al-Shafi'i deemed it obligatory, while the majority of scholars considered it only recommended. Al-Nawawi reported that the madhhab of Al-Shafi'i, Dawud, and Ahmad (in one narration) is that prostrating on something connected to the worshipper (like a sleeve or tail) is invalid. However, Malik, Abu Hanifa, Al-Awza'i, Ishaq, and Ahmad (in another narration) consider it valid. They based their arguments on the hadith of Anas, Ibn Abbas, and Al-Hasan. Ibn Qudamah stated that the prayer is valid when prostrating on a part of the turban, a sleeve, or a tail, and this is the madhhab of Malik and Abu Hanifa. Ibn Uthaymeen issued a fatwa stating the validity of the prayer for one who prostrates on their turban for protection, but he added that it should not be done except out of necessity, such as extreme heat or cold of the ground, or the presence of something harmful, and in this case, the nose must be placed on the ground.
