What is the ruling on recounting problems to people with the intention of warding off the evil eye and envy?

The evil eye and envy are repelled by legitimate means. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned ten of them: 1. Seeking refuge and protection with Allah. 2. Having piety towards Allah and observing His commands and prohibitions. 3. Exercising patience with the enemy and not complaining about them. 4. Relying on Allah. 5. Emptying the heart of preoccupation with the envious person. 6. Turning to Allah and being sincere to Him. 7. Repenting from sins that have given power to enemies. 8. Charity and benevolence, for they ward off calamities. 9. Quenching the fire of the envious person by being kind to them. 10. Dedicating pure monotheism to Allah Almighty.

Among what Ibn al-Qayyim also mentioned is not complaining about the envious person and emptying the heart of them. The evil eye and complaints are not repelled by expressing exasperation in front of people; rather, a Muslim complains their worries to Allah Almighty alone.
