What is the correct belief concerning the upper part of the universe, such as the seven heavens and the water above them, and above the water the Bearers of the Throne?

Based on narrated traditions, the heavens are seven layers (tabaqat). Between each heaven and the next is a distance of five hundred years, and the thickness of each heaven is likewise. Above the seventh heaven is the Kursi (Footstool), and above the Kursi is the sea. Between them is a distance of five hundred years, and the depth of the sea is five hundred years. Above the sea is the 'Arsh (Throne). Allah Almighty is above the 'Arsh, and there are angels who bear the 'Arsh, among whom is an angel whose earlobe to his shoulder is a distance of seven hundred years.
