The "Supplication of the Crown" (Du'a al-Taj) is an innovation (bid'ah) and a reprehensible act (munkar) that is impermissible to adopt, due to its containing polytheism (shirk) and exaggeration (ghuluw) regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him), its contradiction of the established formulations in the Sunnah, and its abandonment of the Sunnah in favor of innovation. Among its violations are: 1. Describing the Prophet (peace be upon him) as the one who repels afflictions, epidemics, droughts, diseases, and pain. This is polytheism, for Allah alone is the repeller of afflictions and the remover of harm. 2. Their saying, "Gabriel is his servant," is a newly invented and innovated statement, for Gabriel (peace be upon him) is the angel of revelation, not a servant. 3. Describing the Prophet (peace be upon him) as "the comfort of lovers" (rāḥat al-ʿāshiqīn). This is a reprehensible act, for 'ishq (passionate love) is an excess in love and is only used in reference to what occurs between a man and a woman.

In conclusion: It is not permissible to adopt this formulation. A Muslim should send prayers upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) using the formulation he taught to his companions.
