Is it permissible for a woman to clean the mosque between prayers and during her menstrual period?

It is permissible for a woman who is pure from menstruation and postpartum bleeding to clean the mosque, following the example of the black woman who used to sweep the mosque. As for a menstruating woman or one in postpartum bleeding, it is not permissible for her to do so, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) prohibition of her entering the mosque and staying in it. However, some scholars permit her merely to pass through or to extend her hand into it.
