Why were humans created?

Allah created everything with wisdom, and He, the Exalted, is the All-Wise. He did not create humankind, nor the heavens and the earth, in vain. Rather, He created them for great wisdoms and overriding benefits. Allah has clarified in the Quran that the purpose of creating humankind is to worship and unify Him, and that they will be resurrected to be recompensed for their deeds. Allah has exalted Himself above creating creation in falsehood or in vain, which is what the disbelievers believe. The creation of humankind is not merely for eating, drinking, and procreating, but rather for their trial and test, so that it becomes manifest who obeys Him and who disobeys Him, and thereby the effects of Allah's Most Beautiful Names and Attributes become apparent.
