Why did God create humankind and distinguish it with intellect and grant it free will, and not make it like the angels who worship God without choice, even though the purpose of its creation is worship, as stated in the verse: "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me"?

To answer the question, "Why did Allah create us?" two types of wisdom must be understood:

1. The Legislative Wisdom (Al-Hikmah ash-Shar'iyyah): This is mentioned in His (the Most High) saying: {And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me} (Quran 51:56). This is what Allah loves, and it may or may not occur.

2. The Predestined Cosmic Wisdom (Al-Hikmah al-Qadariyyah al-Kawniyyah): This involves manifesting Allah's wisdom and attributes, such as forgiveness, mercy, and wrath. Allah created beings in three categories: angels (intellect without desire), animals (desire without intellect), and humans and jinn (intellect and desire). So, whoever's intellect overcomes their desire ascends, and whoever's desire overcomes their intellect is lower than animals.

The summary is that Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise, and Just, and He is not to be questioned about what He does. A Muslim must submit to this and avoid delving into satanic whisperings. We also alert the questioner to the danger of some phrases in their question that touch upon the Divine Essence, and they should repent and seek forgiveness.
