How does one perform ablution if there is a wound on the face that cannot be covered or wiped with earth?

If a wound cannot be washed, wiped, or covered, it should be left without washing or wiping, and the rest of the ablution (wudu') parts should be washed. This is because an incomplete ablution is preferable to an incomplete tayammum (dry ablution).
