Does a divorce issued by a husband to his wife, by saying "You are divorced" three times consecutively, take effect, and what are the resulting rights for the wife, especially regarding the 'iddah (waiting period) and maintenance?

If the husband intended, by repeating the word of divorce, to issue three divorces, then all of them have occurred, and his wife becomes irrevocably divorced from him (baynunah kubra). She is not lawful for him unless she marries another husband and he consummates the marriage with her, and then he divorces her or dies, and her waiting period (iddah) from him ends. This is the view of the majority of scholars. However, if he intended only one divorce and repeated the word for emphasis, then only one divorce occurs. If her waiting period ends, she becomes irrevocably divorced from him, and he has no way to return to her except with a new marriage contract. The waiting period ends after three menstrual cycles for a woman who menstruates, by giving birth for a pregnant woman, and after three months for a woman who does not menstruate. It was obligatory for the divorced woman to observe her waiting period in her husband's house and not to leave except for a need during the day.
