What is the ruling on the persistence of tattoo marks on the body after learning of their prohibition, as well as the persistence of a gold tooth installed by a Muslim out of ignorance, which he then removed, leaving a gap in his mouth?

Tattooing the body is forbidden, according to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Allah has cursed the woman who adds artificial hair and the one who asks for it to be added, and the woman who tattoos and the one who asks for it to be tattooed." It must be removed if possible without hardship or harm; otherwise, repentance and seeking forgiveness are sufficient. As for men, wearing a gold tooth is not permissible without necessity, as it is for adornment. Therefore, it must be removed and replaced with a permissible alternative.
