Who are the Jinn? And how did Allah create them?
Allah created the jinn from fire before creating Adam. The offspring of Iblis from among the jinn are obligated to worship Allah, just like humans. Among them are the righteous and the wicked, and their recompense in the Hereafter will be like that of humans. Both jinn and humans will stand for reckoning on the Day of Resurrection. Some jinn listened to the Qur'an and believed in it during the time of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Adam regretted and repented, while Iblis refused and showed arrogance. Whoever disobeys Allah out of arrogance, whether human or jinn, follows Satan. The allies of the Most Merciful cooperate in righteousness and piety, whereas the allies of Satan cooperate in sin and aggression. The jinn used to have stations in the heavens to eavesdrop, but they were prevented from doing so with the advent of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. The jinn see us, but we do not see them. They are enemies from whom one must be wary.
