Is applying foundation to the face to conceal skin imperfections considered "tabarruj" (displaying one's adornment)?

Linguistically, tabarruj (displaying oneself) is when a woman reveals her beauty to men. Religiously, it is the displaying of adornments to non-mahram men with the intention of attracting attention. Applying foundation cream is not tabarruj in itself, but it becomes deception and fraud if used to conceal facial imperfections from a suitor. Furthermore, it is not permissible to apply it and go out into the street, or to appear with it in front of non-mahram men. It is permissible to use it for one's husband, or in front of women, or mahram men. Foundation cream must be removed before performing wudu' or tahara (ritual purification) because it prevents water from reaching the skin.
