The answer

Several hadiths have been narrated prohibiting the cursing of the Prophet's companions (peace be upon him). Among them is his saying (peace be upon him): "Do not curse my Companions, for if one of you were to spend the equivalent of Mount Uhud in gold, it would not reach the mudd of one of them, nor half of it." And his saying: "Do not harm me concerning my companion (Abu Bakr), for indeed Allah sent me with guidance and the religion of truth, and you said 'You lied,' while Abu Bakr said 'You spoke the truth'." And his saying: "Leave my Companions to me. For by the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, or mountains of gold, you would not reach their deeds."
