What is the authenticity of the Hadith Qudsi that mentions a dialogue between Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, and includes the Prophet's question about the fate of his Ummah, Allah's promise of His mercy and of replacing their evil deeds with good ones, His answering whoever calls upon Him, His giving to whoever asks Him, His sufficiency for whoever relies upon Him, His veiling of the disobedient, the Prophet’s intercession for them, and Allah's saying: "O Muhammad, if I am the Merciful, and you are the Intercessor, then how can your Ummah be lost between the Merciful and the Intercessor?!"?

This hadith has no basis, and the signs of fabrication upon it are clear, especially the phrase "And were it not that the beloved loves to reproach his beloved, I would not have held them to account." This contradicts what is mentioned in authentic hadiths regarding the division of the Ummah and the existence of sinners who will be punished. It also contravenes the Quranic verses that affirm Allah's accountability of people for their deeds. Scholars have mentioned it in books of fabricated hadiths, such as "Tadhkirat al-Mawdu'at" and "Kanz al-'Ummal," attributing it to liars and those accused of fabrication. What is authentically established is the Prophet's (peace be upon him) supplication for his Ummah and his weeping, and Allah Almighty's promise to him that He would please him concerning his Ummah and not displease him.
