What is the ruling on the Hadith: "Do not harm me concerning my family"?

The aforementioned wording has not been authenticated as a hadith. However, something similar was narrated in the exegesis of the Almighty's verse: (Say, "I ask of you no reward for this except the affection for [my] kinship") [Quran 42:23], meaning: "Do not harm me concerning my relatives." The sanctity of not harming the Prophet's family (peace and blessings be upon him) is a known principle in Islam, because whoever harms them has indeed harmed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is confirmed by his statement about Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Indeed, she is a part of me; what troubles her troubles me, and what harms her harms me." And his statement about Al-Abbas: "Do not harm me concerning Al-Abbas, for he is the remainder of my forefathers." And his statement about his wives: "Who will excuse us from a man whose harm towards my family has reached me? For by Allah, I have known nothing but good from my family."
